CSA Payment Options
and Sign Up

Above all, we want our CSA to be accessible to all people of all walks of life. We do not think that finances should determine the quality of food that a person can eat. We also recognize that to remain in business, we must be financially sustainable. We have created multiple payment options for our CSA to help make this a viable option for everyone.

This year, we will be implementing an income-based sliding scale payment option. Sliding scale payment options help bridge the gap of food inequality. Sliding scale options ask that those who can afford to pay more do so, so that those who cannot afford to pay as much, can pay less. This also takes the burden off of the farm to provide no-cost or low-cost food, so that we may stay financially sustainable and continue farming for the long term. Sliding scale options and suggestions can be found below.

Additionally, we offer Payment Plans for those who need. We also participate in a program called Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB) where we can offer a matching grant to those paying with EBT/SNAP benefits.

How to Choose your CSA price and payment option
*New 2023 Sliding Scale Program*

Participation in sliding scale is completely voluntary. We will not ask you any personal question about finances or life circumstances. This is an honor system based program. If you do not want to participate, then please skip ahead to Step 5 and pay the normal Full Price option for your desired share size.

Step 1-
  • If you are paying with EBT/SNAP, please skip ahead to Step 4. You do not need to choose a sliding scale option as you automatically receive 50% off through the Double Up Food Bucks program.
  • If you are not paying with EBT/SNAP, please review the chart to the left. Find the annual household income that most closely matches yours. The annual household income we chose as our base is from the Economic Policy Institute | Family Budget Calculator (epi.org). EPI's Family Budget Calculator measures the income a family needs in order to attain a modest yet adequate standard of living for a given location. Next to your annual household income, you will find the percentage figure of your suggested contribution price to the CSA.
  • Note: If you are a family of four and want a small share or a family of two and want a large share (or any other size and shape!), please feel free to sign up for the share size of your choosing and use your best judgment when deciding how much to contribute to a CSA share.
Step 2-
After finding your suggested contribution price, please consider your wealth and privilege. Most folks experience highs and lows in their lives. Some folks have a more challenging time their entire lives based on societal factors.
You may want to consider contributing more if you:
  • Own your home
  • Have money saving accounts such as retirement or investments, or have inherited money
  • Have access to family money and resources
  • Have significant discretionary income (a large traveling or entertainment budget)
  • Have a high degree of earning power due to education or other privileges such as race, gender, citizenship, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical ability, etc.
You may consider contributing less if you:
  • Are supporting other dependents or giving elderly care
  • have significant non-mortgage debt
  • have medical expenses
Step 3-
Decide on the sliding scale percentage that feels best for your life and your circumstances. Then read over the payment options below. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, this is new for us too, and we are here to help you navigate.
