Now accepting Workshare Volunteer applications!
Are these before and after photos wildly satisfying for you to look at? Are you seeking an opportunity to get your hands dirty this summer on a regular basis? Do you already have a job, but really just want to get outside and work with plants for a little bit? Then you might be the perfect person for our new Workshare Volunteer position!
Workshare Volunteer
Part Time - Seasonal - early May to end of August (with potential to extend later) exact dates TBD and dependent on applicants and weather
Boundless Farmstead’s mission is to grow and cultivate healthy plants, animals, and community, and to form creative and sustainable practices by observing, listening, and studying. We care deeply about the environment, about our family, about our lasting impacts, about our underserved neighbors, and about our community as a whole. We hope to gather a team of people who are welcoming, open-minded, caring, and willing to put in the work (on the farm, in community, and with self).
Please read through our website and get acquainted with our farm and farm practices.
Description
Primary Tasks
The primary responsibilities of the Workshare Volunteer will be weeding. This may be hand-weeding or using a hoe. At the end of August, we can discuss with interested Workshare Volunteers the possibility of helping harvest our large fall crops (This is not a mandatory qualification, just an optional add-on).
Qualifications
We are looking for anyone who is committed to coming weekly and has a love for the outdoors! This is our first year offering this position, but we imagine that this person will often work with other Workshare Volunteers on a weeding project or may work solitarily. We are looking for someone that can work alone or with a small team.
Please note that weeding can be physically challenging and may require prolonged kneeling or standing. We do not require any experience, but do require that you are able to take care of your body and physical needs as an individual by dressing properly, hydrating, practicing good ergonomics, taking breaks as needed, and having adequate caloric intake. We also require that you are able to take care of your emotional and mental needs as individuals by communicating with David and Megan. Once the season begins, we are all in this together!
Other qualifications include:
